I wanted to thank you and Tropical Homes for an excellent vacation stay at the Penthouse Condo. The accommodations were wonderful, house keeping services superb, and the grounds keeper/security/maintenance people were all top notch.

Casa Vista Magnifica, February 2009, March 13, 2009

Recently, my friends and family members stayed at Casa Vista Magnifica in Playa Portrero.  Other family members have rented this particular house in the past and it came highly recommended. The house and location are beautiful and off the beaten path.  The on-site caretakers are wonderful.  It is well worth hiring Rosita to cook "comida tipica" for you and enjoy the stress free environment to its fullest.  The rental process was direct and easy with Britta from Tropical Homes of Costa Rica, Ltda.  This was one of the better vacations I have had in a long time.  You can't beat the house, the location, and the weather.  Julie Blenkle San Diego, California

Britta,

I want to thank you for a wonderful time in Potrero, Costa

Rica!!!  This was the sixth time that we have rented from

you in as many years.  Casa El Paraiso was everything that

your description said it was.  The villa, pool, and grounds were absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more.

We continue to appreciate the hard work you and your staff

put forth to make sure that all of the details, even the

smallest ones, are worked out in advance.  The time you

personally took to assist me during my family emergency is

appreciated more than I express.  I look forward to seeing

you again next year and many years to come.  Thank you

again, Phill. St. Paul, Minnesota

Casa Los Monos, February 23, 2009

Britta and the Tropical Homes Team,

We really had a great time again in our favorite place - thanks to your fine sevices and arrangements.

We have come to rely on you to make sure our vacation works well for the traveling friends we bring. The 16 of us had another great week.

Thanks for making everything work smoothly for us.

We really enjoyed both homes, but Los Monos is fabulous. Many thanks to the staff at Los Monos and to the owners for keeping the home so beautiful and maintained.

Regards, Joe

Lilian,

what a perfect time we had at Casa Los Monos!  A beautiful home indeed.  The staff was so helpful, and so kind.  We felt so at home and comfortable!

Zeida, Suni and Dubalier were all fabulous!  They couldn't have been more thoughtful and kind to all of us.  Even when we freaked out about the mono.  Which turned out to be a blessing, we really enjoyed our Mono!

Hey we wanted to send Sergio a special Thank You, and also a couple of Spanish-English books and CD's to help him on his English skills.  Can you let me know what address is appropriate?  Casa monos?  Or Tropical Homes office?

Thanks again Lilian for a perfect stay.  Please Thank Miguel also for us.  He's an excellent cook!  We are looking forward to our next vacation in Costa Rica!

Thanks Lilian.  You've been the most responsive and customer service person I've worked with, and I so appreciate it!

Pura Vida!

Dear Tom and Chris,

Just thought I'd write you a note on our last full day here.  How can I put into words the wonderful time we have had?  We didn't know what to expect when we got here because it was dark.  Our oldest son,  Brandon, got up early last Sunday and came running back to all the bedrooms telling us we had to get up to see the view.  That was just the beginning.  Each day has been a wonder to all of us.  The mornings are gorgeous and the sunsets are indescribable.  We have taken so many pictures of everything, but we all know a picture doesn't do it justice.

The first week we pretty much got familiar with the area by checking out the various beaches and navigating the bumpy roads, which we enjoyed.  Daryl, Jordan, Andy,  Brianna, Jordan, Brett and Justin all went out on the sailboat snorkeling a few days after we got here.  They enjoyed the experience and thought the crew on the boat was superb.  They devoured the fruit and the guacamole and came back to me bragging about what a good day they had.  I, along with Anna, stayed with the little ones and played in the pool.

On Monday of this week, Jordan, Brett, Brandon, Andy and Brianna took off for San Jose and spent the night there.  On Tuesday they went to Arenal to experience a volcano and the zip lines.  They took lots of videos and pictures on that trip.  They also bought a DVD of the zip line tour.

We have been trying some of the restaurants.  Mostly we have been walking to El Castio for their fruit drinks and chicken nachos in the afternoon.  We have been to Las Brisas several times and have enjoyed the sunset from that beach.  The kids walked up and back to that one, but we drove when we took the kids.  Tonight we are going to go to Mar y Sol to eat and watch the sunset.

We have gone into Tamarindo several time, the kids to the beach, and also to shop in the little shops.  Some of us bought some leather items in the store that sells the sea snake, sting ray, etc.  I bought a watch with the sting ray band.  The workmanship is beautiful and what a conversation piece that will be.  We have also bought some of the jewelry made from the shells and a couple of them bought shark tooth necklaces.

We love the remote feeling of the area and that fact that it isn't so commercialized that you can't turn around without bumping into people.  Some of us have been to Hawaii and found it beautiful, but you can see that kind of city in a lot of places.  This was an experience that none of us have had before.

Yesterday, Jordan, Brett and myself took the Monkey Trail up to do the Canopy Tour.  That was awesome.  We had a blast.  We all hung up-side-down on one of the lines and also did the superman position.  What a rush!  After that we went in the monkey cage and had a blast with the monkeys jumping on our shoulders and nibbling on our ears.  Jordan and Brett had monkeys crawling down their backs under their shirts.  We all laughed so hard that we cried.  We took lots of pictures.  When I get home I will send a few of our highlights.  While on that tour we were with 4 other people and one of the men, if he wasn't Dennis Quaid, he was a dead ringer.  His wife was a beautiful blond.  I asked her if her husband was him, but all she would say to me was the she thought he looked like him, too.  That left us wondering.

Our little grandson, Chase, has had a ball with all his uncles and aunt.  We think he has had the best time of all.  They have had him laughing so hard and he them.  He has seen the little lizards on the balcony, the iguanas in the lots next to us, birds, dogs and Howler monkeys at El Castio.  His excitement at all these new experiences is priceless.  The baby, Livea, is only two months old, but she has been the center of attention, too.

So, as you can see, we have had an experience that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.  We hope that we can come back some day.  I think we all hardily agreed that is something we would like to do.

Thanks so much for the use of your beautiful penthouse.  Now we get to go back to temperatures of near zero.  They have been subzero for most of the week.  What a shock that will be to our systems.

Best regards to all,

Thanks to Britta at Tropical Homes we had a great visit to Costa Rica.  The condo we stayed in was lovely--clean, comfortable, and with a great view of the water.  It cost less for three of us to stay there than it cost my father to stay in a hotel that was not nearly as nice. Our condo allowed us access to the Flamingo Beach Hotel, which was a great bonus. But the greatest benefit to staying in one of Britta's Tropical Homes was her assistance, above and beyond what was required.  She helped us find tours, recommended restaurants, answered practical questions, and, when I lost the condo key while swimming in the ocean, she came immediately, picked us up and let us into the condo. I recommend Tropical Homes as highly as possible.

Our vacation, December 28, 2008
Dear Britta and Lilian,
Thank you so much for your help during our problems in Costa Rica. I donīt know how we could have survived without the assistance of Lilian. Especially the trip to San Jose was crucial in making our decision whether to have surgery or not. We did arrive in the US on 4 February and proceeded to look for doctors to evaluate my options.... I have put this unfortunate incident behind me and both Paula and I look forward to our next vacation with you. Again, thank you for all your help. You will always be in our thoughts and hears.

Eric,
Your house is spectacular! We loved it and have never seen a more beautiful view. Your directions were perfect. Britta had some luggage moved to her truck so we could load up on groceries while we were there. She also called one day to see if everything was ok, which, of course, it was. Rosita and Bismarck were wonderful. She cooked for us a lot, and we had our best meals there. We left them a generous tip, we hope, and they were worth every penny of it.
The roads were a real challenge. Thanks for the advice about the vehicles. The tropical storm had washed the roads a lot. The guys loved the fishing, caught quite a few Dorado.
Thanks again for your generous donation for Arkansas Childrenīs Hospital.
Best to you and your family,
Pat Allen

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know we made it back safe and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Your penthouse was beautiful and in a great location. We really appreciate you having all the amenities for a great experience. Little things like beach chairs and a cooler were great to have for exploring the many beaches.

We spent our last day at the Hacienda Guachipelin and had wild time. We got the all day adventure pass, and I think we ran out of adrenaline. If you get a chance the Canyon trip, (rappelling through waterfalls), and their Canopy trip is well worth it. Since they run their zip lines through the river canyon, it's much different than the Congo Trail.

This was truly a memorable family vacation and I will recommend your Penthouse to friends that are thinking of CR for a vacation.

Thanks again,
Phil
